(教学目的:在阅读之前听一遍课文并回答几个有针对性的简单问题,学生能够大致了解文章的基本内容,同时也训练了学生抓文章主旨的能力。)
2. Skimming
1) Ask students to read the article quickly and finish the information
2) Ask the students to work in pairs and try to divide the article into four parts
Part 1 Para 1 Brief introduction to the crime
Part 2 Para 2-5 The police and the detective’s work on the murder
Part 3 Para 6 Suspect of the crime
Part 4 Para 7 Reward for information
3. Scanning
1) Read Part 1 again and answer some questions.
4) Read Part 2 then finish the table:
Interview: Work in groups of 8. Four work as the reporter, who is from the Golden TV, the other four work as Detective Lu. Interview about the murder.
5) Read part 3 and finish the information about the suspect
6) Work in pairs to discuss who may be the murderer
7) Read Part 4 and finish the reward information

2. Put the events into the right order
3. Finish the blank filling and correct the mistakes
