1. New words: daughter, granddaughter, son, grandson, board, weekday, headache, toothache, countryside, housework, pancake

2. New rule of word-formation: Create new words by putting two words together.

1. Give the students a show of English Tongue Twister

She sells seashells by the seashore. The shells she sells are surely seashells. She’s a seashore shell seller.

I thought a thought. But the thought I thought wasn’t the thought I thought I thought.

2. Present three groups of words and lead the students to my topic―compound words

Add the prefix or suffix to form another word  ―Derivative word

Put two words or more together to form another word  ―Compound word

Use a word as a different word class  ―Conversion word
