When he was just 7 years old, Justus , was living at a garbage dump(垃圾场) in Rwanda(卢旺达). He would compete with other children, even many pigs, for food. Sundays were the worst because the trucks that carried restaurants’ left-over food didn’t come, so there would often be nothing to eat. He lived with other children in an old bus without windows and wheels. He had no family. His parents were killed in a war.
A few years later, Clare Effiong, an American charity(慈善机构) worker, showed up at the dump. She said she could offer several children a chance to leave with her.
Justus accepted this offer. He hadn’t had a bath in over a year. It was a Sunday, so he hadn’t eaten. And most of all, when Ms Effiong asked why he wanted to get out there, he said, “I want to go to school.”

Elizabeth Blackwell’s life changed one afternoon in 1844, when she was 23. Blackwell went to visit a friend who was dying. The dying woman asked her why she did not think of studying medicine. When Blackwell reminded her friend that there were no women doctors, the woman said if she had been treated by a woman doctor, she might not be dying.

The Little ants is a special shadow puppetry performing troupe(皮影戏演出团). Its members’ average(平均的) height(身高) is 1.28 metres. Li Ming created The Little Ants in 2009. He said he started the troupe to help little people like himself who had difficulty finding other jobs.
