三、阅读理解(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)
A
The right name is important in the business world. All you have to do is to think of the names for some of the products you buy every day and you'll agree that the name and the product are connected in everyone's mind.
In many countries, successful trade or brand(品牌)names are protected by law so that other companies cannot make a product that looks like another. People might think that they were buying one product and, in fact, buying something different. Businesses register(注册)a company or a product name with the government. In fact, more than l, 000 product names and company names are registered every hour. Many companies spend a lot of money finding the right name for their products. A good example of this is in the car industry. Some successful names for cars have powerful connection. The Ford Mustang and the Jaguar are only two examples of choosing the names of animals that are fast and strong.
When a U.S. company decides to sell its products in another country, it has to make sure that the product name is translated correctly. When Coca-Cola introduced its soft drink to China, it looked for the right name. It wanted a name that would do two things. One was to present its image in Chinese and the second was to be close to its first brand name Coke. It took some efforts before finding the right word-which sounds similar and is translated as 'happiness in the mouth'. Asian company names are not new to the United States. The brand names of Samsung and Sony have been successful. Finding the right brand name is a big business. Asian companies that sell products to foreign markets pay a lot of money to find a name that will connect with its customers .There are even naming companies that specialize(专门)in inventing product names. These companies can ask for up to$100, 000 a word for their creations .But it's worth it. Successful companies know how important the right brand names are for their development.
(    )26. Why are trade names protected by law in many countries?
        A. To make companies pay for naming service.
        B. To help people choose the best products.
        C. To present good images of the products.
        D. To prevent products from being copied.
(    )27. What can we learn from the passage?
        A. Many companies care about the cost of finding the right names.
        B. Creative trade names can help companies to have a larger sale.
        C. The government often does business with naming companies.
        D. It is considered necessary for cars to be named after animals.
(    )28. What’s the best title for the passage?
        A. The Business of Names              B. The Development of Names
        C. The Rules of Naming Business        D. The Ways of Choosing Names

Sports, school are tiring. But there is a great way to unwind after all of those activities. Go to north London, to the coolest part of the city---Camden. There you can find fashion trends (流行,趋向) and famous people.
Sam and I walked down Camden High Street and made our way to a bridge over Regent’s Canal. It is a 9-mile man-made river that goes through London.
We went into a big market and saw crazy signs, fun T-shirts, and things like hand-made earrings for sale. We bought Chinese fried noodles. It tasted very different from the noodles we make at home, and we ate it with a fork instead of chopsticks!
Camden is famous for the punk(朋克)style that started in the 1970s. Punks walked around with bright pink and green hair, broken clothes with safety pins, metal buttons(纽扣)and pierced ears and lips. Punk music shops played loud, heavy rock music.
But there were also groups of hippies(嬉皮士)with big sweaters. They sat in cafes drinking soymilk, with black clothes, black lipstick and painted white faces.
Besides all these “normal” people, a lot of famous people come to Camden. Actor Orlando Bloom from Pirates of the Caribbean lives there.
Camden is especially known as a home to famous musicians. Lots of top bands played here, including Coldplay, Oasis---and Sam’s favourite band, The Vaccines. I had never heard of them before---But luckily they were playing that night in Camden.

Different colours can affect us in many different ways, according to Allen. In her new series 'Colour me Healthy', Allen looks at the ways that colours can influence how hard we work and the choices we make. They can even change our feelings and even influence how healthy we are.
'Have you ever noticed how people always use the same colours for the same things?' says Allen. 'Our toothpaste(牙膏) is always white or blue or maybe red. It's never green. Why not? For some reason we think that blue and white is clean, while we think of green products to be a bit disgusting. It's the same for businesses. We respect a company which writes its name in blue or black, but we don't respect one that uses pink or orange. People who design new products can use these ideas to influence what we buy.'
During this four-part series, Allen studies eight different colours, two colors in each programme. She meets people who work in all aspects of the colour industry, from people who design food packets, to people who name the colours of lipsticks. Some of the people she meets clearly have very little scientific knowledge to support their ideas, such as the American 'Colour Doctor' who believes that serious diseases can be cured by the use of coloured lights. However, she also interviews real scientists who are studying the effects of green and red lights on mice, with some surprising results.
Overall, it's an interesting show, and anyone who watches it will probably find out something new. But because Allen makes a special effort to be polite to everyone she meets on the series, it's up to you to make your own decisions about how much you should believe.
