Monty are sitting in his 4,000-square-foot house in the middle of the 200-acre horse ranch(马场). When he was in senior school, he was asked to write a paper about what he wanted to be and do when he grew up.
That night Monty put all his heart into the project and he described his goal of someday owning a horse ranch with seven pages. He even drew a diagram of a 200-acre ranch carefully, showing the place of all the buildings and drew a plan for a 4,000-square-foot house in his dream ranch. The next day he handed it into his teacher. Two days later he received his paper back. On the front page was a large red “F” with a note that read, “See me after class”.
The boy with the dream went to see the teacher after class and asked, ‘Why did I receive an F?’ The teacher said, ‘This is an unrealistic dream for a young boy like you. You have no money. But owning a horse ranch needs a lot of money. You have to buy the land and the other things that a horse ranch should have. There’s no way you could ever do it. So if you will
rewrite this paper with a more realistic goal, I will think about your grade again.”
The boy went home and thought about it long and hard. He asked his father what he should do. His father said, “You have to make up your own mind on this. However, I think it is a very important decision for you.” Finally, after a week, the boy turned in the same paper, making no changes at all. He told the teacher , “You can give me the F again but I’ll still have my dream. ”
Two years ago that same school teacher brought 30 kids to camp out on Monty’s ranch for a week. When the teacher was leaving, he said to Monty, “When I was your teacher, I was something of a dream stealer. During those years I stole a lot of kids’ dreams. Fortunately you had enough power not to give up on yours. ”
Don’t let anyone steal your dreams. Follow your heart, no matter what.

Mind over matter. If you’re stressed, you’re more likely to become ill, and less likely to recover quickly.
The first thing to do is to brighten your mood. Simple things like going for a short walk will relax the mind and help your body to recover from a cold. I’m sure dog owners live longer than the rest of us because they’re always out there walking.
Watch what you eat. Avoid eating processed, fatty foods. Focus on a plant-based diet, aiming to eat seven or more portions of fruit or vegetables a day. When you’re feeling tired, oranges are particularly good because of the vitamin C content.
A warming drink. A great treatment for a cold is fresh ginger tea(生姜茶). Thinly slice two inches of root ginger and boil, adding lemon juice and honey to taste. The honey is very calm for the throat and cools inflammation(炎症). Ginger has antibacterial and antiviral effects(抗菌、抗病毒的作用), so you breathe more easily. It’s nice that it’s spicy and hot, too. You also need to have hydrated flush all the toxins out of your body.
A little help. In the short term, taking medicine such as ibuprofen is a good way to cut down the inflammation. Just make sure that whenever you’re taking it you drink a lot of water.

I strongly believe that it is rather important to be a good listener. Effective(有效的)listening is more than simply avoiding the bad habit of breaking others while they are speaking or finishing their sentences. It’s being satisfying to listen to the whole thought of someone rather than waiting impatiently for your turn to reply.
In some ways, the way we fail to listen is the symbol of the way we live. We often treat communication as a race. It’s almost like our goal is to have no time gaps between the conclusion of the sentence of the person we are speaking with and the beginning of our own. My wife and I were recently at a cafe having lunch. It seemed that no one was really listening to one another, instead they were taking turns not listening to one another. I asked my wife if I still did the same thing. With a smile on her face she said, “Only sometimes.”
Slowing down your replies and becoming a better listener can help you become more peaceful. As you wait for the man you are communicating with to finish, as you simply listen more carefully to what is being said, you’ll notice that the pressure you feel is off. You’ll immediately feel more relaxed, and so will the people you are talking to. Becoming a better listener can make you more patient, and it will also improve the relationships between you and others. Everyone loves to talk to someone who truly listens to what they are saying.

Vincent Willem Van Gogh ( 30 March, 1853-29 July, 1890 ) was a Dutch Post Impressionist artist. He is considered one of the greatest artists with great influence on the 20th century art.
Van Gogh spent his early adult life working for a company of art dealers(艺术商). After a brief period as a teacher, he became a missionary(传教士). He did not begin his career as an artist until 1880; however, during the last ten years of his life, he produced more than 2,000 pieces, including around 900 paintings and 1,100 drawings and sketches(素描). He worked only with somber colors until he met Impressionism and Neo-Impressionism in Paris. Van Gogh used the bright colors and style of painting in a uniquely recognizable style. Most of his best known works were produced during his final two years, when he was suffering from serious mental illness.
In 1890, Van Gogh shot himself in the chest when he was 37. He died two days later, Theo, his brother and his best friend, at his side reported his last words as “The sadness will last forever.” it would not take long before his fame grew higher and higher.
Van Gogh’s mother threw away quite a number of his paintings. The only painting he sold during his lifetime, The Red Vineyard, was created in 1888. It is now on display in the Pushkin Museum in Moscow, Russia. Several paintings by Van Gogh rank among the most expensive paintings in the world. On March 30, 1987 Van Gogh’s painting Irises was sold for a record of $53.9 million at Southby’s, New York.
