Step1 Warming up
The students sing an English song.
Step2 Checking the words
1.Ask the st udents to read and say some words by showing the pictures.
2.Encourage the students to write down the words according to the pictures.
3.To come to 1a
Look at the picture and talk about if they have any of these things at home and how long they have had.
Step3 Checking the language chunks:
1. Show the students the phrases by showing several pictures.

2. Get the students to read and say the languages chunks.

Step4 Presentation and Practice
1. Present the conversation:

A: How long have you had it?
B: I’ve had it for three years.
2. Get the students to practice the conversations.
Step5 Listening (1b)
1. Get the students to discuss the picture.
2. Get the students to listen to t he tape and answer the questions:
What’s the relationship between Amy and Jeff?
What things did Amy ask about?
3. Get the students to show their answers.
4. Get the students to listen again and check the facts they hear.
Step6 Presentation and Practice (1c)
Get the students to read the conversation and work in pairs.
Step7 Listening (2a 2b)
1. Get the students to discuss the picture.

2. Get the students to listen to the tape and check the things Amy’s family are giving away and circle the things they are keeping.
