Ask students How many English songs can you think of?
Which are your favorites?
Let students work in pairs.

Get students to look at 1b and ask students How can singing English songs help your English?Discuss it with your partner and make a list.
Get students to complete it.Students do not look at the reading yet.Instead,they work in pairs and use their background knowledge to try to make a list of how can singing English songs help one’s English abilities.As students complete this task,move around the room and look at their progress.
Once most students finish,ask a few pairs of students to share their answers with the class.

Get students to predict what they think the article is about,based on the title.Ask the students what English songs they like best.

Get students to work in pairs.A few minutes later,ask some pairs to say something about the two questions.

・Ask students to draw a nine-box grid,like a tic-tac-toe game.Then dictate the following nine sentences,asking students to write one in each square.Ask students NOT to write down the sentences in the correct order,but to write the sentences at random in the nine box grid.
Sentences:
1.That’s too boring.
2.It’s not big enough.
3.That’s too expensive.
4.That’s not tall enough.
5.That’s too personal.
6.That’s not long enough.
7.That’s too far.
8.That’s too dangerous.
9.That’s too cold.
・Write the adjectives on the board and ask students to check and correct their spelling.
・Then read the following sentences.Ask students to write the letters of the sentences in the squares that contain the correct response to the sentences.

b.Let’s take a 20 mile bicycle ride.
c.Let’s swim in the ocean at night.
